Preface: On May 10, 2019, The China (Wuxi) Additive Manufacturing Quality Improvement Conference was held in Wuxi with the theme of "High Standard Guidance, High Quality Development", marking the Test Method Technology Subcommittee of National Additive Manufacturing Standardization Technology Committee was officially established. This conference had far-reaching significance for China to seize the commanding height of the global additive manufacturing industry.

More than 300 representatives attended this seminar, including Olivier COISSAC, Secretary General of ISO/TC261/WG3 Working Group of International Organization for Standardization, National Market Supervision Administration, National Standardization Management Committee, China Machinery Industry Federation, Jiangsu Provincial Market Supervision Administration, Wuxi Municipal People's Government. China's additive manufacturing industry alliance, related universities, research institutions, production enterprises and testing institutions are also included.

Additive Manufacturing, known as 3D printing, is also recognized as "the key technology supporting the third industrial revolution". Test Method Technology Subcommittee of National Additive Manufacturing Standardization Technology Committee established this time, will rely on the public platform (for example, the National Additive Manufacturing Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center) to accelerate the construction of the additive manufacturing standard system and encourage domestic enterprises, especially Wuxi local enterprises, to participate in the formulation of national standard, industry standard and team standard actively. At the same time, the Wuxi Municipal Market Supervision Administration will also jointly establish “Wuxi Additive Manufacturing National Quality Institution (NQI)” with three key institutions, including the Key Laboratory of Metallic High Performance Additive Manufacturing of the Northwestern Polytechnical University, the China Productivity Center for Machinery of the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology, and the China Aviation Integrated Technology Research Institute, leading the technological breakthrough of the the additive manufacturing industry.
